Made with russet potatoes, the tasty morsels are now available by the bagful. Herr Foods selects the finest russet potatoes – chosen for their uniform color after chilling – that have been cooled to temperatures between 46 and 48 degrees. To create the old-fashioned, kettle-cooked style, the potatoes are then cooked in small batches with pure vegetable oil. The result is a thicker, crispier chip. Herr’s Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips join an already popular kettle-cooked line that includes Philly cheesesteak, buffalo wing and boardwalk salt and vinegar. Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips are available in 2.125-oz. and 9-oz. bags and retail for 99¢ and $2.89, respectively.
