csd launches web site redesign

By CSD Staff | January 16, 2007

New site features an industry-specific vertical search engine, industry blogs, white papers, and much more.

After many, many hours of research and development, and countless hours in organizational meetings, Convenience Store Decisions is proud to launch a complete redesigned CSDecisions.com. To say developing this site was a team effort would be an understatement. This site is the culmination of the wonderful combined efforts of CSD’s staff editors and the technology savvy of our IT and E-media staffs.

In addition to the sleek design, new features on this site include a Community Section for our popular Ask the Experts

segment, research, White Papers and the industry’s first vertical search engine. All of this is to help you, the reader, be more informed when it comes to making key business decisions.

The vertical search component is going to make searching for industry news and analysis a whole lot easier. Our premise is simple: We know you have many choices for news, analysis and research. Our goal is simply to be the hub where you can find what you are looking for. We have cast a wide net to ensure you will get a broad and thorough search. Surfing multiple Web sites for that one piece of information you must have is no longer necessary. Many sites. One URL: CSDecisions.com.

News, analysis and feature stories will also be easier to navigate as they are divided by category to provide quick and easy access to the most up-to-date industry information available.

In the next few weeks we will be adding streaming audio and video presentations to the site along with a planogram section for industry suppliers to instantly share a multitude of product assortments, layouts and store designs directly with convenience store retailers.

CSD online will also feature a number of blogs, including a retailer report from Dan McCurdy, who last month retired from Town & Country food stores after 35 years in the industry.

“This blog will serve as an information resource for all things in the c-store communication arena-advertising, public relations, communication tips, news of new ad campaigns, commercials and horizon items,” said McCurdy, a savvy industry veteran with vast communications experience at some of the industry’s biggest chains including 7-Eleven (20 years) and Town & Country Food Stores (13 years). “It will be specifically tailored to the needs and interests of the c-store community.”

Please review the new site and let us know what you think, or tell me if you have an idea for an industry blog. We are committed to an open exchange of ideas and welcome suggestions for content that will provide the retail community cutting-edge solutions to improve their businesses. Please send your comments, questions or suggestions to [email protected].
