7-Eleven is kicking off the grand opening of its new store off of Routh St. in Downtown Dallas with a party celebrating its new store and corporate offices. The new store and offices represent a new opportunity for the chain to become acclimated with its home city.
“Downtown Dallas is home to thousands, the workplace of tens of thousands, and a visitors’ destination for millions,” Allen Pack, vice president of 7-Eleven’s corporate and franchise stores in Texas and four nearby states, said in a written statement. “Besides a loyal following of 900 7-Eleven employees who recently moved offices to 1 Arts Plaza, we know our new downtown store will provide a much-needed convenient source for fresh foods and drinks at lunch, forgotten groceries in the evenings, and snacks and beverages on weekends for downtown visitors to the Arts District.”
The “party on the plaza” takes place today, May 18, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and features a concert to launch sales of the “Support Our Troops–Support Their Sacrifice” CD, a collection of songs by new and celebrated artists that honors the soldiers fighting over seas. The CD benefits the USO and its programs for American troops and their families. It retails for $8.99 and is available exclusively at participating 7-Eleven stores.
In order to kick off the festivities, artists All-4-One, Celena Rae and Courtney Now are making appearances, signing autographs and singing songs found on the “Support Our Troops–Support Their Sacrifice” CD.
