Rutter’s Farm Stores has made changes to its senior management staff, including the promotions of two long-time company executives, the return of another one and a new addition.
Jeffrey Leedy, former vice-president of marketing, has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president/chief customer officer, a position focusing on new customer initiatives. He will continue directing the day-to-day activities of the marketing department, including merchandising, pricing and fleet fueling.
Also being promoted is Jere Matthews, who will now be the vice president of operations. The position includes responsibility for foodservice operations and food safety. The former director of operations has been with Rutter’s for 29 years.
Returning to the company is Jerry Weiner as vice president of foodservice, a spot he held from 1997 to 2005. Prior to his return, Weiner was director of foodservice for MAPCO of Nashville, Tenn.
Finally, the newest addition to Rutter’s is Robert Perkins, the new director of marketing. Prior to this position, Perkins was with Impact 21 Group, an independent consulting firm. Before that, he spent six years with Irving Oil Corp., capping his tenure as director of marketing.
“We’ve been in the c-store business for 40 years,” said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter’s Farm Stores. “These strategic personnel changes will provide us with the forward vision to keep changing our offerings as our customers keep changing.”
