The long-awaited, much-talked about debut is on its way. This week, Tesco announced a Nov. 8 opening for its first six Southern California locations of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, according to the Press
Enterprise.
Stores set to open that day are at Florida and Lyon avenues in Hemet, and at 8th Street and Mountain Avenue in Upland.
In late September, Tesco unveiled plans to open 48 locations of the new small-store grocery chain by the end of 2009. Currently, 30 cities in California are slated to get a Fresh & Easy, as well as cities in the states of Nevada and Arizona.
According to a company statement, each of the stores will employ 20 to 30 people. Tesco will ultimately employ about 1,500 in its stores and another 1,500 at its distribution center nearing completion in Riverside, Calif.
