Tech Vendors Partner to Benefit Industry

IBM and Retalix announced a partnership to deliver a new, highly-integrated system management solution for grocery and convenience store retailers. As part of a global initiative, the two companies will develop and market an integrated solution designed to provide a new way for clients to centrally manage their point-of-sale systems, applications and other elements of the retail datacenter.

Announced at the National Retail Federation show in New York City, the new offering will combine the Retalix portfolio of retail automation software, including Retalix StoreLine and Retalix StorePoint, with IBM’s Remote Management Agent (RMA), giving retailers of all sizes the ability to remotely monitor, configure and track hardware, software and applications located in a single store, or multiple stores, from one centralized location.

As retailers deploy new technologies to differentiate themselves in the marketplace, they need an effective systems management solution to manage the complex store environment, reduce IT costs, and improve store uptime. The combination of IBM RMA and Retalix software significantly enhances the ability of retailers to manage their entire enterprise, from the front of the store, to the back office from a single console.
