Kum & Go L.C., the West Des Moines, Iowa operator of more than 430 convenience stores in 12 states, has promoted Niki DePhillips to director of recruitment and retention.

As director of recruitment and retention, DePhillips will work within Grow People, the name of Kum & Go’s human resources department, and she will be responsible for driving the talent acquisition objectives for Kum & Go store and corporate positions. To ensure the company’s personnel needs are met, she will provide leadership to the recruitment team. Her other responsibilities will include developing standards and protocols for recruitment and retention, identifying recruitment metrics and trends to categorize high-performing individuals and establishing effective plans for sourcing, screening and evaluating job candidates.

“We are delighted to announce the addition of Niki DePhillips as director of recruitment and retention to our Grow People team,” said Steve Kimmes, senior vice president of Grow People. “Niki is a results-oriented associate and a proven producer who will bring fresh and creative solutions to the challenges faced by my team.”

DePhillips has been a Kum & Go associate since December 2002 serving in various positions within the real estate department over the last five years. She advanced within the department and most recently held the position of director of real estate.

“Niki’s high-quality work and knowledge of the company make her the perfect candidate to take on this position,” said Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go. “She will be vital to providing a strategic vision for recruitment and retention, ensuring that the department continues to meet the demands of our growing company.”
