Kum & Go L.C., operator of 430 convenience stores in 12 states, has added two new-to-industry stores to its portfolio. Both units, in Greeley, Colo. and Elk Point, S.D., measure 3,400 square feet and are open for business.

The Colorado unit features 16 fueling stations and includes diesel and E85 fuels. In addition to the fuel, Kum & Go stores feature a wide selection of food and beverage products, including Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Napa Creek and Sea Ridge wines and Go Fresh Market Sandwiches. The Iowa-based company also offers potato chips, bottled water, cookies and candy under the well-known Hiland brand name in its stores.

As part of Kum & Go’s commitment to developing environmental-friendly building and operating practices, the new Greeley store integrates heavily insulated glass, LED cooler door lights and energy-efficient coolers into its energy-efficient design. It’s the third Kum & Go location in the Greeley area and the 26th store in Colorado. Kum & Go plans to continue its growth in Colorado with eight new stores scheduled to open throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to offer another Kum & Go location for the residents of Greeley and surrounding areas,” said Kyle Krause, Kum & Go president and CEO. “Kum & Go provides superior service on top of offering a large selection of quality products. We are excited to build new relationships with businesses and patrons within the community.”

The Elk Point, S.D. store features a variety of amenities including a Subway, 20 fueling stations and E85 fuel. It’s the 20th Kum & Go location in the market adding to the 10 stores in Sioux Falls, S.D., and the nine stores in Sioux City, Iowa. Kum & Go plans to continue its growth in South Dakota with one additional new store scheduled to open in Sioux Falls in October.

“The city of Elk Point was great to work with throughout the construction process,” said John Feldman, vice president of construction for Kum & Go. “They were very helpful and excited for the new store. We are glad to bring economic development in the form of sales and property tax generation and jobs to Elk Point.” The new store location has been annexed into the city of Elk Point.
