Wawa Inc. this week begins its new dinner deals campaign where customers can choose any dinner item for $3.99, or a combination of three items for $9.99. The on-the-go service marks the company’s official foray into dinnertime offerings at its 570 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
The campaign is expected to run at least until June 8, providing customers classic favorites like soup, as well as new food items created specifically for the 4 to 8 p.m. service.
Some of the items include ciabatta melts, classic hoagies, BTO salads, hot-to-go bowls, chicken strips and family-sized soups.
The company says its new focus on dinner comes at a key moment in the dining industry, as the National Restaurant Association estimates that 133 million Americans dine out each day. This year alone, Americans could spend $558 billion dining out.
What’s more, 80% of those consumers make their dining decisions based on convenience, an estimate that hasn’t been lost on Wawa’s leaders.
"At Wawa we are on the pulse of our customers’ needs and wants and for this reason convenience at competitive prices have always laid at the heart of our offer," said Howard Stoeckel, Wawa’s president and CEO. “Our new dinner deals bring this commitment full circle as our customers seek more convenience and quality in the dinner arena."
