Users of Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s Passport POS system will soon be able to remotely manage their sites from a central location as Gilbarco and RedPrarie Corp. are poised to release Passport Version 9, an integrated remote-management solution offering centralized control over configuration, fuel pricing, reporting and software maintenance.
Additionally, Gilbarco and Allure Global Solutions Inc. are developing the Applause media system, an integrated digital signage program to coordinate advertising and promotional messages for in-store and outside offerings.
The Applause system will drive messaging on Gilbarco’s Encore S dispensers with color screens and indoor digital signs.
Gilbarco’s Passport system is a widely used POS system offering a touch-screen interface.
“With the current trend toward multi-site ownership and the volatility of fuel prices and margins, it’s more important than ever for retailers to be able to manage multiple sites and multiple brands more closely and respond to competition in real time from their desktop,” said Greg Davis, Gilbarco’s Passport marketing manager.
Gilbarco said Applause, the digital signage solution, is more effective than static and paper signs.
“Retailers who deploy these solutions enjoy the flexibility to change messaging instantly, the ability to segment dayparts for unique messaging and avoid the expense and time needed to prepare and hang traditional paper signs,” said Kirn Khalsa, self-service marketing manager at Gilbarco.
Gilbarco will demonstrate the new products at the NACS Tech show in Texas May 5-7.
