ADDISON, Texas — Beverage manufacturer Boo Koo Holdings Inc. said it’s partnering with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, the nation’s second largest Coca-Cola bottler, to launch the new BooKoo Burner+ energy drink.
Coke Consolidated will distribute the new drink to more 2,000 of its current convenience store customers throughout Nashville, Tenn.; Mobile, Ala.; Panama City, Fla. and surrounding markets.
BooKoo Burner+ is an innovation in the energy drink category, being the first drink to add protein with the typical energy drink ingredients such as taurine, ginseng, caffeine and B vitamins. It is a non-carbonated energy drink with 20 grams of whey protein, two carbohydrates and no sugar.
"The launch of BooKoo Burner through one of the largest bottlers represents a significant opportunity to rapidly penetrate the energy beverage market," said Steve Solomon, chairman of Boo Koo. "BooKoo Burner + is a revolutionary development for the energy drink category. In the past, some people drank an energy drink as well as a not-so-good-tasting protein drink. BooKoo has mastered the formula to provide both energy and protein in a great tasting beverage."
BooKoo Burner+ comes in three flavors: Dangerine, a raspberry flavor with a blend of tangerine; Pummelgranite, Pomegranate one of the most successful flavors blended with blackberry; and Main Lime, a smooth refreshing lime flavor that is a pure balance of sweetness and tartness. All flavors will be available in 16-ounce cans.
"We believe BooKoo Burner represents an exciting addition to the energy beverage market, and look forward to using our broad distribution network to provide consumers with the opportunity to enjoy the product," said Mel Landis, senior vice president and chief marketing and customer service officer at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated.
