Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market saw nearly 2,600 customers show up to the grand opening of its store in Manhattan Beach, Calif., on Wednesday, the company said. It’s the company’s 62nd store on the West Coast, the others being in California, Nevada and Arizona.
The store’s “grill pack” sold particularly well, the company said, adding that in only 12 hours customers purchased nearly 1,400 units. The “grill pack” is about 5 pounds of items and includes an assortment of high quality beef patties, mild pork sausages and lightly chili-seasoned chicken for only $4.99 through July 8.
“Yesterday’s opening was fantastic, the neighborhood showed up in force to show its support,” said Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy CEO. “Based on what customers are buying at the Manhattan Beach store, there are going to be a lot of Fresh & Easy barbeques this Fourth of July weekend.”
Mason was joined at the grand opening by Manhattan Beach Mayor Richard Montgomery and Mayor Kelly McDowell from neighboring El Segundo to officially open the store, which is less than a mile away from Fresh & Easy’s home office. The Manhattan Beach opening marks Fresh & Easy’s continued expansion in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.
