Beer enthusiasts seeking a sophisticated draught beer drinking experience at home can rejoice, because the BeerTender, a new countertop chilling system from Heineken and Krups, is now available at retailers nationwide and online.
A one-of-a-kind appliance, BeerTender features stylish design characteristics and authentic draught beer thanks to the patented carbonator pressure technology of the Heineken DraughtKeg and Heineken Premium Light DraughtKeg.
BeerTender is available online and at retailers nationwide, including Williams-Sonoma, Amazon.com, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens N Things, Macy’s, Chefs, Cooking.com, Sur la table and Frontgate. A complete list of purchase locations is available at www.beertender.com.
“BeerTender is a must-have for any beer aficionado who values a premium-quality draught beer experience and stylish product design,” said Ken Kunze, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Heineken USA. “BeerTender combines Heineken’s DraughtKeg technology with Krups’ excellence in product design and quality construction.”
“BeerTender’s classic satin black and chrome design reflects and confirms the traditions of draught beer and enhances the authentic experience of pouring a true draught beer at home,” said Steve Jones, Krups Director of Marketing and Communications.
Engineered by Krups, BeerTender chills the DraughtKeg and maintains the ideal serving temperature to provide an authentic draught beer experience at home. The technology works in four easy steps: Insert a DraughtKeg into BeerTender, connect the included disposable draught tube, close the lid and serve.
It’s available in two models – the B90 and the B95.
The B95 model has an illuminated LCD screen control panel that features a Keg Volume Indicator, which displays the amount of beer left in the DraughtKeg, as well as a 30-day Freshness Count-Down Indicator.
Other features on the B95:
The B90 model has an LED control panel that also features a Keg Volume Indicator and a Temperature Indicator and Ready to Drink Icon, which chills and maintains DraughtKeg at an ideal serving temperature of 38°F. A light on that feature turns from red to green when beer has reached the optimum serving temperature. The B90 purchases for $279.
To celebrate the launch of the distinctive BeerTender, Heineken and Krups have created a unique website, www.BeerTender.com.
However, Heineken also used a new BeerTender marketing campaign to capitalize on a growing trend of at-home entertaining.
The new ad spot was the first Heineken Lager ad created by new advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, and it featured a unique perspective on suburban home bars that have been “upgraded” by Heineken’s BeerTender.
The “Home Bar” television spot was introduced on June 9, and remains in rotation through late July. The spot follows two guys on a suburban tour of home bars – a surprising underground view of the best spots in the neighborhood. Each location is different, but they all have one thing in common: guests enjoying perfectly poured icy-cold Heineken and Heineken Premium Light draught beer from their BeerTenders.
The spot is airing on various network and cable channels during primetime throughout the summer, including FOX, ESPN, ABC and Comedy Central, among others.
In addition, print ads will run in select publications including Maxim, GQ and Sports Illustrated. Web-specific advertising has been appearing on Yahoo!, AOL, SI.com and New York Times.com since June.
