Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America said it has amended its long-standing agreement with Daimler Trucks North America LLC to expand its ServicePoint brand to the company’s Petro:Lube locations.
“TA” and “TravelCenters of America” heavy truck-repair centers have been ServicePoint-branded locations since 1999, complementing the services provided by the Daimler dealer network.
The chain’s repair shops are the only truck-stop repair facilities authorized by Daimler to provide certain warranty services to Daimler brands of heavy-duty trucks.
TA, TravelCenters and Petro:Lube locations provide repair and maintenance services to heavy-duty trucks of all brands and types by certified technicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in nearly 1,000 service bays across the U.S.
The amended agreement with Daimler will add ServicePoint-branded repair services to allPetro:Lube facilities at Petro Stopping Centers locations. It also incorporates expanded coordination of customer repair services with certain authorized dealer locations of the Daimler Trucks North America network.
TA said it anticipates its Petro:Lube locations will start to become ServicePoint-authorizedwarranty service providers beginning in late September 2008, with substantially all Petro:Lube locations to be ServicePoint-authorized locations before the end of the first quarter of 2009.
TravelCenters of America has 166 locations in 41 states, 13 of which are franchised sites. The company went public in January 2007, and four months later purchased the Petro:Lube brand, which has 69 sites in 33 states. Of those sites, 44 were owner-operated and 24 were franchisee-operated. Additionally, TA leased 40 Petro locations from its former private owner, Hospitality Properties Trust, of Massachusetts.
