Cody’s, the convenience store chain named after Wild West icon Buffalo Bill Cody, is delivering foodservice with guns a blazing.
Cody’s President and CEO Curtis Jared said the 39-unit retailer entered into an agreement earlier this year as a Hot Stuff franchisee for 20-plus units.
“We’ve been very impressed with the quality, service, freshness and foodservice profitability that Hot Stuff has provided,” Jared said. “Every 21 days each of our stores receives a service visit from our Hot Stuff consultant, who works hand-in-hand with our foodservice team on every dimension of our foodservice program.
“Most importantly is that our customers love the taste of the fresh-made Hot Stuff pizzas, sandwiches, and breakfast products, and we enjoy strong margins on the Hot Stuff program,” Jared said.
John Barber, executive vice president of development for Hot Stuff Foods, said the franchise’s rapid growth is attributable to Hot Stuff giving its franchisees what customers demand: great-tasting, high-quality products and fair prices that can be delivered quickly to meet consumers’ busy schedules.
“We are very proud that the Cody’s team has chosen Hot Stuff Foods as their prepared food service partner,” Barber said.
Cody’s Convenience Stores has been serving customers since 1886, when the original general store was opened and named in honor of Buffalo Bill Cody, who brought his Wild West Show to Springfield.
The chain now has 39 stores serving Missouri customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It offers a wide range of products and services in select stores, including fuel, foodservice, ATM, car wash, DVD rentals showers and more. Cody’s is often recognized for the its active role in the community and has been honored as one of the best places to work by the Springfield Business Journal.
Hot Stuff Foods franchises and licenses its branded food concepts, including Hot Stuff Foods, SmashHits Deli and Hot Stuff Food On the Go in more than 1,300 locations in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
