Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets said it’s planning to hire more than 250 store employees this month as a part of a continued expansion, but it’ll have to cull the applicant list down from the 14,000 it received in August.

With stores in California, Arizona and Nevada, Fresh & Easy said it offers pay and benefits package that have been remarkably well received by jobseekers. For every store position filled, the company has received nearly 72 applications.

The company currently employs more than 2,600 people at its stores, distribution center and company headquarters.

“It is amazing so many people want to work with us and value the quality jobs we are creating. We have a remarkable team of exceptional employees,” said Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy’s CEO. “We are excited to expand our team by creating even more local jobs in the months to come.”

Entry-level positions at Fresh & Easy start at $10 an hour in California, with similarly competitive salaries in other states.

The company is opening stores No. 82 and 83 in Las Vegas, Nev., and Moreno Valley, Calif., this week.
