The NATSO Foundation Board of Directors voted to add five members to its roster this week. The directors, whose terms are effective immediately, bring the board to its full complement and represent organizations from the truckstop and travel plaza industry, its suppliers and customers, NATSO said.
The NATSO Foundation is the research, education and public outreach subsidiary of NATSO, the professional association of America’s travel plaza and truckstop industry.
"The foundation’s board plays a pivotal role in developing and overseeing programs that benefit communities and promote the significance of the travel plaza industry," said Sharon Corigliano, executive director of the NATSO Foundation. "The board’s newest directors bring valuable insight, experience and compassion that will certainly strengthen the foundation’s efforts."
The newly installed directors fill existing vacancies on the board, and they include professionals from the truckstop and travel plaza industry and its stakeholders. The new members are:
"For nearly twenty years, the travel plaza industry has demonstrated its commitment to its employees, customers and communities by supporting the foundation’s programs," Corigliano said. "The foundation is now adding a new program dedicated to the safety of the motoring public, and our directors have the vision and expertise needed to carry that innovative campaign forward."
Since beginning in 1989, the foundation’s programs have awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships, collected nearly 50,000 pints of blood, and donated over 60,000 gallons of diesel to aid in disaster relief efforts.
