Today’s rising energy costs and new regulations are affecting businesses worldwide, especially in the foodservice industry, where refrigeration constitutes one-fifth of energy costs. Master-Bilt’s foamed-in-place polyurethane panels have foam that bonds directly to the metal overlay, creating a higher R-value than those that are not. The foam is mixed from two parts, polyurethane resin and isocyanate, during the injection process. The two materials react together and rise within the panel, bonding directly to the overlay and eliminating any cracks or seams that could compromise the insulation value and allow heat to escape. Independent studies show properly overlaid polyurethane panels experience little out-gassing and very slight reduction in R-value, even after years of operation.
