CHS Inc. has launched a new Cenex Winter Gift Card Campaign, just in time for retailers to capitalize on an expected increase in demand for gift cards that can be used to pay for household essentials. The winter campaign includes all new in-store merchandising, three fresh gift card designs and professional installation services for retailers, said Rick Cummings, vice president of refined fuels marketing for St. Paul, Minn.-based CHS.
“We’re seeing signs that consumers will shift some of their holiday gift card spending toward necessities such as groceries and gas due to strains on the household budget,” said Cummings. “We believe Cenex gift cards are a practical and thoughtful gift choice that will be greatly appreciated this season.”
The winter campaign is designed to help Cenex-branded retailers increase traffic and build their business as easily as possible.
“For the first time, we’ve hired a professional installation service to visit each convenience store and set up their gift card display for free,” Cummings said, adding participating retailers will also receive promotional materials and advertising support from CHS.
The new winter-themed gift cards feature whimsical images inspired by items available at a c-store, such as snowflakes made of tree-shaped air fresheners, hats made of red licorice and snowmen made of crackers.
“The new gift cards are also made of corn-based plastic, which supports our agricultural producers and helps protect the environment,” Cummings said.
