Two CITGO retailer meetings come none too soon for c-store operators looking for ways to improve efficiency and cut costs at the nearly 7,000 locally owned CITGO stations nation wide. The annual Wisconsin Retailer Meeting in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. on April 28 and the Northeastern Region Retailer Meeting in Mashantucket, Conn. on May 28, include sessions on PCI compliance, fleet services and how to improve customer service.
“One of the things we heard from our marketers earlier this year is how confusing the industry-mandated PCI compliance issues are. We want to help our retailers prepare for the changes ahead, so they can make a seamless transition to the new regulations,” said Steve Morris, Northeast market regional manager for CITGO Petroleum Corp, Houston. “We also know that our retailers are truly the face of CITGO in their local communities, so we want to provide tools to help them grow their businesses, while also listening to their questions and concerns.”
The meetings will provide retailers with hands-on training on a range of key topics vital to their operations. The session on CITGO Fleet programs will review the new line of business credit cards offered by CITGO and the opportunities retailers have to benefit from these programs. In addition, retailers will be able to participate in an on-site trade show to view new products and services from key industry vendors that can help improve and streamline individual business operations. During the meetings, retailers also can meet individually with representatives from CITGO to express concerns about their locations or share success stories with fellow retailers.
“We, at CITGO, know that the complexities of running a gas station and convenience store are even more apparent in the current economic climate,” said Jim Click, central market regional manager with CITGO Petroleum Corp. “That is why CITGO is so committed to offering and expanding programs to help our marketers and retailers succeed. Our Fleet Card program is better than ever, and our state-of-the-industry loyalty program and tools help Retailers not only survive but thrive in today’s fiercely competitive environment.”
