With its seventh annual charity golf outing, the Rutter’s companies, York. Pa., raised $90,000 for children’s charities.
The specific charities that will benefit from this year’s event will be announced in the coming weeks.
The golf outing took place May 4-5 at Regents’ Glen Golf Course near York. It drew 256 participants, including 236 representing Rutter’s suppliers.
“We had the same number of golfers and raised the same amount as last year, which is quite a feat in today’s economic environment,” said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter’s Farm Stores. “Our supplier community really stepped up to help out the children. What a great feeling.”
The goal of Rutter’s Children’s Charities is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children. Including 2009 contributions, Rutter’s charitable giving will top $2 million over the past seven years.
Family-owned Rutter’s operates 57 convenience stores in Pennsylvania.
