This summer, Rutter’s is sending eight lucky customers on long vacations–from gas prices.
Each of them will win free gasoline for one year as part of Rutter’s Farm Stores’ annual “Fuel Up Free!” contest, which returns from May 25 through Aug. 30. What’s more, a ninth customer will win a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle, courtesy of Rutter’s and hot dog maker Kunzler & Co. The winners will be chosen through random drawings.
“In these tough economic times, everyone is looking for that little extra bargain or special deal,” said Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter’s Farm Stores. “So we’ve doubled the number of free-gas prizes from last year’s contest and, with the help of our friends at Kunzler, added the Harley giveaway. We expect to see a record number of entries given that there will be so much more to win.”
Here’s how the contest will work: Rutter’s offers weekly food and beverage specials. With each purchase of a special, a customer will receive an entry blank. The more specials that customers purchase, the more chances they have to win.
The gas winners will be selected in eight separate drawings held throughout the contest period. The Harley winner will be chosen from among all of the non-gas-winning entries at the end of the contest.
The participating sponsors are Pepsi Cola, Coca-Cola, Cadbury Canada Dry, Function Beverage, Snapple, Red Bull, Edy’s Grand Ice Cream, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Pennsylvania Lottery, Kunzler & Co., S&D Coffee and Rutter’s Dairy.
The York, Pa.-based company operates 56 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
