Rutter’s Farm Stores’ summer gas giveaway is at its half-way point, but York County residents Deb Rohrbaugh and Schirl Warner are just getting started.
Rohrbaugh, of Dallastown, and Warner, of Windsor, are the third and fourth winners–each receiving free gasoline for one year in Rutter’s “Fuel Up Free!” promotion. Rutter’s officials presented the prizes this morning at the company’s York Township store.
The first two winners were Lowell Sipe of Red Lion, York County, and Brandi Cook of Fayetteville, Franklin County.
A total of eight customers will receive free gas for one year as part of the contest, which began May 25 and runs through Aug. 30. A ninth customer will win a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle, courtesy of Rutter’s and hot dog maker Kunzler & Co. Each of the winners will be chosen through a random drawing.
Here’s how the contest works: Rutter’s offers monthly food and beverage specials. With each purchase of a special, a customer receives an entry blank. The more specials that customers purchase, the more chances they have to win.
The participating sponsors are Pepsi Cola, Coca-Cola, Cadbury Canada Dry, Function Beverage, Snapple, Red Bull, Edy’s Grand Ice Cream, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Pennsylvania Lottery, Kunzler & Co., S&D Coffee and Rutter’s Dairy. Participants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Pennsylvania or Maryland at the time of entry.
Family-owned and third generation-managed, York-based Rutter’s (www.rutters.com) operates 56 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
