Aspen Beverage Group, a San Antonio coffee roasting and beverage manufacturer has been awarded a Silliker Audit Platinum Award, the highest possible rank, for exceptional food safety and quality systems, making it the only beverage company in the U.S. to achieve the honor.

 

Silliker GMP / Food Safety Systems and Distribution Center Audits are conducted every year. Only 20 companies in the nation have received a platinum award-10 processing plants and 10 distribution centers. Aspen’s 2008 Audit Platinum Award was announced following Silliker’s extended audit and qualifying process.

Annually, Silliker conducts several thousand audits across North America that combine a recognized industry practices and principles, as well as recommendations from the National Advisory Committee for Microbiological Criteria in Foods and the Food & Drug Administration, into comprehensive evaluation forms used by Silliker auditors. These audit evaluations involve a system of review as well as a physical assessment of the facility in the implementation of food safety and quality systems procedures.
