Gulf Oil L.P. is appealing to sports enthusiasts, while providing its site owners with more must-have products by partnering with Sportsline Distributors Inc. to offer licensed collectibles for the everyday sports fan.
“Our extensive and unique selection of merchandise is proven to help drive customer traffic, and we look forward to working with Gulf to help its retailers expand their businesses,” said Marty Faierstain, president of Sportsline, Buffalo Grove, Ill.
The program includes trading cards and other collectibles licensed and approved by the National Football League and Major League Baseball. The collectibles feature various teams, including the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, New York Giants, Jets, Yankees and Mets, among others.
“Our customers are among the most avid sports fans around. We believe these products will be received by the driving public and provide another reason for them to see the Gulf brand as something very special. We expect our dealers to enjoy the new traffic that comes from the offering too,” said Ron Sabia, president and chief operating officer for Framingham, Mass.-based Gulf Oil, which distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 Gulf-branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals.
