Giant Eagle is making it easier to acquire gift vouchers with the launch of its new GifterGo program.
GifterGo is a new online service that enables customers to purchase gift vouchers conveniently from their PC for a wide variety of local and community merchants, the Pittsburgh-based supermarket retailer, which also has 153 fuel and convenience stores throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, north central West Virginia and Maryland, announced.
When customers purchase the gift vouchers online at GiantEagle.com/GifterGo, the voucher is instantly activated and they also earn fuelperks! rewards on the Giant Eagle Advantage Card.
“Just in time for the busy holiday shopping season, GifterGo is another convenience that will enable customers to purchase downloadable gift vouchers to local merchants right in their communities,” said Giant Eagle Senior Director of Corporate Communications Rob Borella. “Choices include a great group of local and regional retailers, restaurants and recreational facilities in our markets throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio.”
“GifterGo provides customers the convenience of buying a gift voucher online, along with the ability to either download and print it for use right away or save the voucher to a file for later use,” he said. “Of course, customers also have the option of using GifterGo for a gift-giving occasion, and e-mailing a personalized notification and voucher to a family member, friend or co-worker for their use.”
Borella noted GifterGo opens a whole new way for area consumers to earn fuelperks! at some 50 of their favorite local merchants including The Carlton Restaurant, Eyetique, Verve Wellness, Perfect Flooring, Studio Arts and Glass, Hurwitz Center for Rejuvenation, Mallorca Restaurant, Izzazu International Salon, The Spa & Salon at Southpointe, Del’s Bar and Restaurant, Pennsylvania Hypnosis Center, Guardian Self Storage, Reyers Shoe Store, 1902 Tavern, Wright’s Seafood Inn, Birdsfoot Golf Course, Olde Stonewall Golf Club, and Sewickley Gallery & Frame Shop.
After visiting GiantEagle.com/GifterGo, customers can then search by retailer categories and browse by retailer name. The gift vouchers receive a one-time use number and can be customized and made memorable by adding images, graphics, a personal message and more.
“The online process is really quite simple to access, navigate and make a purchase,” said Borella. “The site features a shopping cart page, a payment screen to enter the purchase amounts and credit card, and a confirmation and download page.” He added, “fuelperks! earnings are seamlessly credited to your Giant Eagle Advantage Card.”
Giant Eagle’s fuelperks! program is designed to reward customers for loyalty in meeting the appropriate purchase requirements in participating Giant Eagle supermarkets, GetGo locations, and online. In combination with Giant Eagle’s recent everyday price reduction efforts, the 10 cent fuelperks! rewards on GifterGo gift vouchers are intended to provide even more ways to save by shopping at Giant Eagle.
With fuelperks!, customers meeting purchase requirements earn a discount on each gallon of gas at GetGo with every $50 spent with the Giant Eagle Advantage Card inside Giant Eagle supermarkets, GetGo locations and online. The Giant Eagle Advantage Card automatically tracks customers’ fuelperks! savings, and a customer can redeem points by simply scanning a Giant Eagle Advantage Card at the GetGo pump. There are no limits on the amount of fuelperks! savings a customer can accumulate. Customer savings can be accumulated up to the price of a free tank of gas (one vehicle only; maximum of 30 gallons) in one transaction, and any fuelperks! savings accumulated above the price per gallon remains on the customer’s Giant Eagle Advantage Card for future use.
