Kum & Go L.C., announced yesterday, Dec. 1, that as part of its continued support for its associates who serve in the armed forces, it is introducing a new Military Pay Benefit.
This new benefit offers financial support to those Guard and Reservists who are deployed to tours of duty. It is available to all current active and deployed military personnel employed by Kum & Go for a minimum of 13 weeks. In addition, if an associate experiences a loss of income due to a military deployment, Kum & Go will supplement the difference in their base pay for up to 12 months.
“At Kum & Go, supporting military service is important to us. For our associates currently serving in the U.S. armed forces, we want them to know we are here for them now and when they return from theater,” said Marcy Klipfel, senior vice president of Grow People for Kum & Go, which has about 430 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming). “We’re proud of them, and we know it’s vital for us to support them and their families,” Klipfel added.
In 2009, Kum & Go displayed Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve certificates in all 430 stores. In response, Kum & Go was awarded the State Chairman’s Award from the Iowa Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
