A group of 88 Exxon Mobil Corp. gas station operators, including at least 24 from New Jersey, are suing Exxon Mobil Corp., alleging that the company is delaying deliveries on fuel when prices increase in order to manipulate the price of gas at the pump, NorthJersey.com reported.
The 45-page lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court in Newark on Wednesday also accuses Irving, Texas-based Exxon of violating the operators’ franchisee rights, and making it more difficult for them to be successful by increasing lease payments when leases expire and raising the portion of real estate taxes paid by operators.
