Tonawanda, N.Y. -based NOCO Express donated more than $4,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to save lives and end breast cancer forever during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2009.
NOCO Express donated $.10 of every cup of coffee sold to the Komen Western New York Affiliate and were able to also support National Breast Cancer Research thru the sale of “Pink” refillable coffee mugs.
The campaign helps support local programs for early detection through mammography, treatment support, breast cancer education and breast cancer research through Susan G. Komen national breast cancer research grants.
“We are grateful to NOCO Express,” said Jackie Mordaunt, the Komen WNY Affiliate executive director. “To date there is no cure for breast cancer and one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Until there is a cure, early detection is the most important course of action in the fight against breast cancer. The NOCO donation will help in our vigilant effort to diagnose women at an early stage when treatment is most effective. A portion of this donation will also fund critical cutting edge research to energize science to find the cures.”
There are more than 30 NOCO Express service stations and convenience stores throughout western New York.
