Laval, Que.-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. through its Circle K Stores Inc. unit, is acquiring eight stores in central North Carolina from Accel Marketing LLC, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The stores, which operate under the Accel banner, are company-operated and offer proprietary fuel. Once the purchase is complete, the stores will be operate under the Circle K banner and will offer fuel under that brand. Couche-Tard didn’t disclose the purchase price, but noted that it would use available cash to complete the transaction.
Circle K has more than 3,000 stores across the U.S. and more than 4,000 international locations. Couche-Tard, Circle K’s parent company, operates a network of 5,904 convenience stores, 4,128 of which include fuel dispensing.
