As the PACT (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking) Act moves to the House after passage in the Senate, for a final vote, NATO is urging retailers to take action.
Because the Senate version of the bill is slightly different than the House version, the U.S. House of Representatives must vote on the bill again before it is sent to the President for his signature.
“While the U.S. House of Representatives will most likely pass the Senate version of the PACT Act, this bill is too important to take final passage for granted,” NATO warned in its latest newsletter. NATO members will be receiving an alert providing them with the name and Washington, DC telephone number of their particular U.S. Representative and asking them to call their U.S. Representative and urge the representative to vote to pass the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act which is Senate Bill Number 1147.
