Wilson Farms Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Corporate Recruitment Event will kick off on Thursday, March 18 with a check presentation.
Paul and Karen Nanula, chairpersons of the western and central New York Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk, will present a check from Wilson Farms for funds collected through several fundraising efforts that supported the Light The Night Walks, which took place this past fall.
Community leaders from more than 50 corporations will gather with the Nanula’s to discuss sponsorship opportunities for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2010 Light The Night Walk.
Light The Night is the Society’s nationwide fundraising walk that celebrates and commemorates lives touched by cancer. Participants who raise funds will carry red illuminated balloons, while cancer patients and survivors will light the path with white illuminated balloons. Gold balloons are carried in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
The 12th annual Light The Night Walk will take place on Friday, Sept. 24 at Delaware Park. Funds raised through corporate and individual donations will go to support programs of blood cancer research, local patient aid, advocacy, education, and community service.
“This was a success thanks to the incredible support offered by the community, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society volunteers and staff, Wilson Farms customers and our Associates,” said Paul Nanula, president and CEO of Wilson Farms and chair of the 2009 Light the Night Walks. “We are honored to again be a part of this year’s fundraisers and want to extend out heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everyone who has supported The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We couldn’t have done it without them and we look forward to another successful year.”
