New Jersey business journal NJBiz recognized Quick Chek, which operates more than 120 fresh food store locations throughout New Jersey and southern New York, as one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey, during an award ceremony on April 22.

The weekly business journal’s Best Places to Work survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program is made up of 55 companies split into two groups: 30 medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and 25 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). Quick Chek has been named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the large category.

“Being an outstanding place to work is at the cornerstone of Quick Chek’s mission and core values,” said Bob Graczyk, vice president of human resources for Quick Chek. “We pride ourselves in creating an environment where our team members not only like their work, but like those they work with along with the customers they serve. Becoming one of NJBiz‘s Best Places to Work in New Jersey validates this commitment to our more than 2,600 employees as we continue our work to provide our customers with fresh food choices, outstanding coffee and a dedicated staff of customer service representatives who create an inviting atmosphere in all of our stores.”

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 55 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process. Additionally, they analyzed the data provided and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
