To start off the Iowa Corn Indy 250 race weekend the Kum & Go station at 2110 Guthrie Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa featured an E85 promotion and a two-hour appearance and autograph signing by race car driver Marco Andretti.
On Thursday, June 17 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30 p.m. customers that visited the Kum & Go had a chance to fill up on E85 for 85¢ per gallon and 10¢ off per gallon of E10, courtesy of Iowa Corn.
Customers also had a chance to meet Andretti, Team Venom Energy Drink IndyCar Series Driver, who signed autographs from 6:00p.m. to 7:30pm. Andretti is the son of three-time IndyCar Series championship-winning team owner and former CART champion Michael Andretti and grandson of racing legend Mario Andretti.
In other Kum and Go news, from June 11-13 the chain celebrated the grand opening of its Omaha, Neb.-store at 8242 Maple St. Customers had a chance to register to win free gas for a year and enjoyed free 32-ounce fountain drinks at the store. During a live radio broadcast, customers had a chance to win tickets to MAHA Music Festival and listened a performance by local musician Betsy Wells. A ribbon cutting took place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 11.
Also from June 11-13, Kum and Go celebrated the opening of its Tiffin, Iowa store at 101 Village Drive, where customer registered to win free gas for a year, attended a ribbon cutting, enjoyed free fountain drinks and stopped by all weekend to receive fresh pizza by the slice for only $1.
