McLane, a supply chain services company, has debuted its new Grab & Go Hot Foods program and its new Grab & Go Gourmet Pastry program.
Grow Sales With Hot Food
McLane’s Grab & Go Hot Foods program addresses the growing demand for hot prepared foods at a fair price and includes an array of products and equipment solutions to help convenience stores meet growing customer demand for affordable, prepared foods.
In 2009, c-store foodservice growth outpaced traditional quick-service restaurants, and retailers are struggling to keep up with the growth. Customers consider value, quality and taste to be the most important factors when deciding on a prepared food purchase at a store.
McLane’s new program introduces unique solutions to satisfy these customers with extensive product selections at affordable prices. Quality roller-grill items, such as hot dogs, grilled wraps, egg rolls and breakfast sausages as well as warmer selections such as breakfast sandwiches, burritos and burgers, are among the wide array of products offered through the program.
“Many retailers are recognizing the growing demand for foodservice options, but aren’t able to provide the quality and selection required to draw these buyers,” said Grant Demers, product director for food service and supplies for McLane. “By offering retailers this new program, we’re hoping to alleviate these obstacles and provide scalable solutions that promote both customer satisfaction and incremental revenue.”
McLane’s new Grab & Go Hot Foods program includes equipment recommendations-such as roller grills, heated snack merchandisers and warmers-to retailers seeking ways to kick-start sales in a rapidly emerging market. The equipment available comes in a variety of sizes and configurations, allowing retailers to tailor their selection for each store and customer base.

McLane also has introduced its Grab & Go Gourmet Pastry program, which looks to offer convenience stores a turnkey solution with several options to help retailers increase their bottom line.
The demand for inexpensive prepared foods at convenience stores continues to increase, and breakfast foods are consistently the most popular category.
McLane’s pastry program addresses this demand by offering convenience stores an extensive selection of premium quality and affordable baked goods-including doughnuts, Danishes, cinnamon rolls, brownies and cookies. The program also provides acrylic merchandisers in a variety of sizes and configurations, allowing retailers to tailor their selection to suit each store and customer base.
“Many retailers have neglected to capitalize on the growing demand for c-store prepared foods, and the breakfast category in particular,” Demers said. “Our Grab & Go Gourmet Pastry program offers retailers a stress-free entry into this profitable segment with a wide range of value-priced products and merchandising recommendations to provide dedicated shelf space that conveys a commitment to quality, safety and variety.”
McLane’s Grab & Go Gourmet Pastry program is an economical way for retailers to enter into the foodservice category or refresh existing programs in certain markets. Retailers large and small have expressed an interest in the program for its flexibility and the opportunity to generate profits.
