The National Coffee Association (NCA) is preparing to celebrate a century of service to the industry in 2011. To kick off its Centennial year, NCA is asking industry members and consumers to set aside Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 as a day for a National Coffee Break.
Commemorating coffee’s iconic place in U.S. history and culture, NCA is encouraging industry members nationwide to show their support by organizing consumer promotions and events and for consumers to take time out of their day to bond with family, friends and colleagues over a cup of coffee.
“This is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the coffee industry and not only celebrate the ubiquitous beverage, but educate people about coffee as well,” the NCA said.
A Web site to support the event is being launched this week at www.nationalcoffeebreak.org and can be followed @NtnlCoffeeBreak or “liked” on Facebook at NationalCoffeeBreak.
