“This is a tremendous opportunity for our community,” the Star City Mayor says of the new c-store.
Sheetz Inc. has the all-clear from the city council of Star City, W.Va., to move forward with plans to build a new Sheetz convenience store on the corner of Monongahela Boulevard and Boyers Avenue—less than a quarter of a mile from another Sheetz, at the corner of Chaplin Hill Road and Routes 7 and 19, 12 WBOY News reported.
Sheetz reportedly aims to build the new store because drivers often by-pass the existing store to avoid the traffic.
Star City Mayor Bob Musick told 12 WBOY News he hopes the new store will attract other businesses to the area. “What we don’t have here in Star City is commerce. We don’t have a gas station in Star City. This is a tremendous opportunity for our community,” he said.
Construction on the new Sheetz is scheduled to begin in August and take 16 months to complete.
