Organic grocer to celebrate Salt Lake City grand opening with giveaways, food and festivities.
Sunflower Farmers Market, a full-service natural and organic grocer, is only one month away from the grand opening of its latest Salt Lake City store, which debuts March 16, bringing more “serious food at silly prices” to the area.
The new Salt Lake location is at 656 East 200 South and marks the third Sunflower location in Utah and the 33rd store overall for Sunflower Farmers Market. It also comes after an exciting year for the natural foods grocer, which earned recognition from Grocery Headquarters as the 2010 Natural/Organic Supermarket Retailer of the Year.
“We’re very excited about opening our third store in Utah, and look forward to meeting even more of the demand in Salt Lake City for serious food at silly prices,” said Sunflower CEO Chris Sherrell.
Salt Lake City’s grand opening festivities will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. to kick off the celebratory mood, with the doors opening at 7am. The grand opening day events are set to continue throughout the day with savings in every department, as well as music, festivities, kids’ activities and more. Prizes include a free reusable shopping bag filled with healthy groceries for the first 200 customers to make a purchase, valued at over $50; and a free reusable grocery bag with purchase for the first 10,000 shoppers; as well as other giveaways.
Sunflower Farmers Market currently operates 32 stores throughout six Southwestern states: Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Texas. The company will open its first California location in April of this year.
