JAL Enterprises and Summit Foods team with the Darryl Strawberry Foundation Fight for Autism.
JAL Enterprises, a company that creates products to support non profit organizations and Summit Foods
have teamed up with the Darryl Strawberry Foundation “Fight for Autism” to introduce a new fruit snack, All-Stars for Charities Fruit Snacks.All-Stars for Charities Fruit Snacks are made with real fruit juice, fortified with vitamin C and are 100% fat free. The snacks debuted at the Sweets and Snack Expo last month at McCormick Place in Chicago, where former Major League Baseball player, Darryl Strawberry was on hand to talk about the Fight for Autism.
Strawberry founded “Fight for Autism,” The Darryl Strawberry Foundation in 2006. After years of addiction and troubles on and off the field, Strawberry has turned his life around and wants to give back what was so freely given to him—The Gift of Life.
“Every day I face the challenges of addiction and make the decision to be thankful for the gift of life. For many families, waking up to autism everyday is also a challenge that will always be part of their lives. I want to do all I can do to help families through the challenge, to face it every day and decide to be thankful for the gift of life,” said Strawberry.
All-Star for Charities Fruit Snack is expected to hit shelves nation-wide this summer. A portion of the proceeds from product sales will be donated to the Darryl Strawberry Foundation “Fight for Autism.” The foundation’s mission is to ensure quality of life for individuals affected by autism through the development of programs that focus on special education, socialization, and independent skills training in a structured learning and caring environment.
“Fruit snacks are a popular choice of snack for kids of all ages and pairing up with Darryl Strawberry’s Fight for Autism is a great way to increase awareness about autism among parents and kids,” said John Luppo, CEO of JAL Enterprises.
