Speedway LLC President Tony Kenney and Valero Energy Corp. President Gary Arthur have been announced as panelists for the NACS Show General Session panel “A Tale of Two Retailers.”
The panel discussion will be moderated by Joe Petrowski, CEO of Cumberland Farm Group of Cos.
The Oct. 3 session, presented by NACS Magazine, is part of the annual industry-focused Business Strategy Day at the NACS Show. The day’s General Session presentations also will include Ideas 2 Go, a fast-paced 45-minute video tour of some of the most interesting, creative and potentially profitable ideas in the convenience and fuels retailing industry.
With approximately 1,350 stores, Speedway is the fourth largest chain of company-owned and operated gasoline and convenience stores in the U.S. With headquarters in Enon, Ohio, Speedway operates in seven states throughout the Midwest and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp.
Valero Energy Corp. is an international manufacturer and marketer of transportation fuels, other petrochemical products and power. Based in San Antonio, Texas, the company has approximately 5,800 retail and branded wholesale outlets in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean under the Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar and Beacon brands.
Legendary newsman Tom Brokaw will serve as a NACS Show Closing General Session speaker on Oct. 4 and Bert Jacobs, co-founder and CEO (chief executive optimist) of The Life is good Co., will serve as an Opening General Session speaker on Oct. 2.

Overall, 21,983 attendees were at the NACS Show in 2010, including 1,328 international attendees. The NACS Show featured a 370,000-plus net-square-foot exposition floor with 1,300 exhibiting companies — including 330 companies new to the NACS Show.
