Susser adds six new convenience stores and eight dealer sites in second quarter.
Corpus Christi, Texas-based Susser Holdings Corp. expects to report same-store merchandise sales growth for the second quarter of 2011 of approximately 5.8% year-over-year when it releases its second quarter operating results next month. Retail average per-store fuel volumes are expected to increase by 3.6% versus the second quarter of 2010.
For the first half of 2011, the company expects same-store merchandise sales growth of 5.7% and retail average per-store fuel volume growth of 3.4% versus the first half of 2010.
During the second quarter the company opened six new large-format convenience stores and closed one smaller store, for a total of 532 as of July 3 in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, primarily under the Stripes and Town & Country brands. Eight new wholesale dealer sites were added during the quarter, and one was discontinued, for a total of 439 sites currently. Susser has added a total of 13 dealer sites and discontinued five during the first half of 2011.
Susser plans to release its second quarter 2011 financial results before the market opens on Wednesday, Aug. 10. In conjunction with the release, the company has scheduled a conference call that will be broadcast live over the Internet the same day at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
