New store plans to employ 80 during construction, 40 full-time.
York, Pa.-based Rutter’s Farm Stores plans to break ground on the chain’s 57th convenience store, which will be located off the Loganville exit of I-83 in Loganville Borough in southern York County, Pa.
The multi-million dollar project is situated at the intersection of Susquehanna Trail and Reynolds Mill Rd. The 5,700 square foot convenience store will employ more than 80 workers from 14 local contractors during construction and 40 store employees when it opens in early spring of 2012.
The store will feature numerous environmentally friendly attributes, including LED exterior lighting, energy-reducing skylights, infrared-controlled interior lighting, a white reflective roof and instant hot water heaters. In addition, customers can contribute to the effort by tossing empty cans, bottles and old newspapers into the recycling bins provided at this, and every, Rutter’s location.
The store will have 18 automobile fueling positions, four automobile diesel fueling positions and three dedicated diesel truck fueling spaces.
Rutter’s customers in Loganville will enjoy the convenience of 24-hour access to the most extensive fresh-made fast food menu in central Pennsylvania. Touch-screen ordering will give customers quick access to the menu at breakfast lunch and dinner. There will be an in-store seating area for 14. The store will have six frozen beverage flavors, 16 soft drink flavors and two self-serve milkshake machines, not to mention one of the area’s most extensive premium-coffee islands.
A surcharge-free M&T bank ATM machine and a Blockbuster video rental kiosk will be among the other conveniences at the store.
Rutter’s Farm Stores was recognized as CSD’s 2010-2011 National Convenience Store Chain of the Year. It is a third generation family-owned and managed business operating 57 convenience stores in six Pennsylvania counties.
