Pilot Flying J is opening a new Pilot Travel Center in Marion, Ill., on Dec. 19. featuring full amenities for professional drivers and the motoring public.
The travel center is located at 2611 Vernell Rd.The 8,542-square-foot travel center features eight fuel islands and six diesel islands along with DEF and biodiesel at the pump. The facility also features high-speed fuel pumps that provide faster flow so customers can refuel quickly as well as a restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items.
“We hope that Marion area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Pilot Travel Center,” said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J. “The travel center will serve this community through products and services as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And, we’ll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation.”
The Pilot Travel Center in Marion is part of the network of more than 550 travel centers and travel plazas in the Pilot Flying J family, which serves more than 1.3 million customers every day across the U.S. and Canada.
The Marion location includes a Subway restaurant; clean restrooms; pay phones; an AirVac, fax and copy services; Western Union and money orders; an ATM; lottery and Lotto tickets; an arcade; laundry services; and general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers.

They’ll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items like pizza and Oscar Mayer hot dogs,” said Ellen Dorchincez, general manager for the Marion location.
“Our premium hot beverages include gourmet specialty coffees from all over the world as well as Pilot’s house coffee which was named the ‘Best Coffee on the Interstate’ by the readers of Truckers News. We also have a variety of fountain drinks, frozen drinks and fresh brewed tea.”
In addition to diesel fuel, DEF and biodiesel at the pump, professional drivers have access to such services as a CAT scale, five automated showers and 48 parking spaces for trucks. The Marion location also features driver services such as Transflo and Trip Pak, so professional drivers can get in and out of the store quickly and be on their way.
As with all other Pilot Flying J locations, the Marion Pilot Travel Center honors the new Frequent Fueler Advantage card and continues to honor points accumulated on the Frequent Fueler, RV Real Value Card and Driver Payback cards. Pilot and Flying J merged last year, and both brands are still available on U.S. highways.
