At 6,500 square feet, the new Hillsboro location is considered one of the largest c-stores in Jefferson County.

Home Service Oil Co., which operates Express Mart convenience stores in and around Jefferson County, Mo., just south of St. Louis, has recently opened two newly-built Express Marts that are enormous in size.

Their new Hillsboro location opened at the end of January and features 6,500 square feet of interior space including the car wash. The convenience store will feature 110 linear feet of cooler capacity including a beer cave. The new location will utilize approximately 14 part- and full-time employees.

“We believe this to be one of the largest convenience stores in Jefferson County, if not the largest,” said David Mangelsdorf, president of Home Service Oil, the operating company of ten area Express Marts.

Outside, the 20 fueling locations will offer no waiting to peak-time customers. In addition to the standard gasoline grades, E85 flex fuel, diesel and kerosene will also be available.

Home Service Oil management is invested in reducing the environmental impact of both locations.

Both stores are equipped with skylights for maximizing natural light and individually-controlled florescent lighting that automatically adjusts the intensity of the light as needed. There are four giant eight-foot ceiling fans in each store to aid in its efficient heating and cooling. Large recycling bins will be available at Hillsboro allowing the community to recycle all their aluminum cans, paper, etc. by depositing it all in one bin.

The new Arnold location will open at the end of February and is nearly as large as the Hillsboro location with more than 5,200 square feet of interior space complete with massive amounts of cooler space including a beer cave. This location will also employ approximately 14 employees.

The Arnold Express Mart has 12 fueling locations to offer great availability in a bustling area of the city.

Home Service Oil has been in business since 1930. The company, headquartered in Barnhart, Mo., distributes heating oil, gasoline, racing gas, aviation and jet fuel, bulk oil and operates 10 Express Mart convenience stores in and around Jefferson County, Mo.
