Del Monte Launches 500 Sneaker March

Promotion encourages customers to exercise and eat fresh fruits and vegetables.

Del Monte Fresh Produce has launched its 500 Sneaker March promotion, which begins March 1 and runs through March 31.

The promotion, hosted on the Del Monte Fresh Produce Facebook page, will randomly award 500 sneakers to 500 Del Monte Facebook fans who enter the contest. All entrants will be encouraged to sign a pledge to exercise at least three times a week for 30 minutes and as the USDA recommends, make half their plate fruits and vegetables.

“We’re excited to launch this promotion and offer consumers the possibility to win a brand new pair of sneakers,” said Dennis Christou, Del Monte’s vice president of marketing.  “Del Monte Fresh Produce not only provides fresh fruits and vegetables, which are key components in leading a healthy lifestyle, but now through this promotion, encourages consumers to exercise as well.”

Each week, during the entire month of March 2012, 125 randomly selected eligible U.S. and Canadian consumers that enter the contest, will each be awarded a $75 gift card to Foot Locker to purchase a pair of sneakers.
