Hoshizaki America Inc. earns award for protecting the environment through energy efficiency.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Hoshizaki America Inc. as a 2012 ENERGY STAR Award for Excellence in ENERGY STAR Promotion winner for its outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by sponsoring significant consumer education efforts promoting energy-efficient products.
Hoshizaki America Inc. accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 15, 2012, which marks the 20th anniversary of ENERGY STAR.
Hoshizaki America Inc., an ENERGY STAR partner since 2003, is being honored for its work in promoting products and programs that meet ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy efficiency.
Hoshizaki America Inc. works responsibly to provide original products that are good for the environment with clear benefits for customers. Its strategic environmental plan is based on ISO14001, which stipulates the development of energy saving products, conservation and preservation practice. In fact, Hoshizaki America is the first U.S. Foodservice manufacturer to achieve this status.
Hoshizaki America’s top three ENERGY STAR accomplishments align with ENERGY STAR goals of helping consumers identify and select products with superior energy efficiencies.
• Superior products. Hoshizaki’s engineer and design team has set ENERGY STAR criteria as its development baseline. Hoshizaki’s products rate “Most Efficient” in all categories reported.
• Corporate Responsibility. Sustainability, reduction of HFC, recycling, water conservation, and community are action plans at Hoshizaki.
• Consumer Education. In 2008, Hoshizaki began a massive campaign of education on product efficiency. By 2011, it reached new levels as ENERGY STAR visibility was a mainstay of any marketing medium and training throughout Hoshizaki.
ENERGY STAR and Hoshizaki America partnering for a better planet. Over the past 20 years, American families and businesses have saved nearly $230 billion on utility bills and prevented greenhouse gas emissions equal to those from more than 350 million vehicles with help from ENERGY STAR.

The 2012 Excellence in ENERGY STAR Promotion Award is given to a variety of organizations in recognition of their efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce pollution, resulting in significant cost savings. Award winners are selected from about 20,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
