Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC signed an agreement, letting Gilbarco offer Passport services to Shell-branded gas stations.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC (Shell) signed an agreement to let Gilbarco provide Passport service offerings to thousands of Shell-branded stations in the U.S.

The agreement gives Shell-branded wholesalers access to current Passport service packs, new software versions to maintain PCI PA-DSS compliance, including network loyalty functionality and help desk support.

Walt Gothard, technology manager for Shell North America, said the company’s agreement with Gilbarco Veeder-Root gives Shell-branded wholesalers an advantage.

“It will allow them to have access to the latest software functionality and enhanced support through Gilbarco–all at a great value by leveraging the scale of the Shell network,” Gothard said.

Mike Schulte, president of Gilbarco Veeder-Root North America, said the Gilbarco team looks forward to working with Shell to provide PSO Plus Service to participating Passport locations.

“Our Plus service will provide Shell-branded Passport customers with the latest software updates for superior system performance and remote diagnostics for maximum system uptime,” Schulte said.

Shell will manage the invoicing process via monthly EFT draft with the Passport Plus service program, which means that branded wholesalers won’t have toprepay for a full year of service.

Gilbarco’s Passport point-of-sale system provides an intuitive touchscreen interface that minimizes training time, errors and shrinkage. It can help wholesalers manage and grow business with flexible fuels, merchandise discounts, loyalty programs and connectivity.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a technology leader for retail and commercial fueling operations.
