Aloha Petroleum adds new fast chargers for electric vehicles at three of its locations.
Aloha Island Mart and Shell gas stations unveiled new ways to fuel with new electric vehicle fast chargers at their Hawaii gas stations.
AeroVironment’s electric vehicle DC fast chargers are now offered at three locations across Hawaii: Aloha Island Mart Kahala, Aloha Island Mart Waipio-Gentry and Kailua Shell. For a limited time, any electric vehicle equipped with a CHAeMO (charge for moving) fast-charging outlet can be charged for free at these Aloha stations. The new DC fast chargers can deliver a full charge to an EV battery in only 30 minutes.
“Use of electric vehicles is steadily increasing across Oahu,” said Richard Parry, Aloha Petroleum’s president and CEO. “As our customers’ driving habits evolve, we’re proud to provide innovative, clean and reliable ways to fuel their vehicles, whether it’s gas-powered or electric.”
The Aloha Petroleum charging stations are part of the Hawaii EV Ready Grant Program, which received American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and limit Hawaii’s dependence on petroleum. As part of the program, the state plans to install 200 new EV charging stations at more than 80 locations statewide.
Aloha Petroleum Ltd. is the largest gasoline marketer in the state of Hawaii, operating more than 100 Shell, Aloha and Mahalo fuel stations.
