Anheuser-Busch team members fund and build homes for St. Louis families with Habitat for Humanity.
Anheuser-Busch employees and family members prepare for “Builder Day” this Saturday to help Habitat for Humanity St. Louis build homes in both the University City and Carondelet communities.
Habitat St. Louis plans to build five homes in each St. Louis community, each home being constructed to meet LEED platinum standards.
The Anheuser-Busch Foundation donated $67,000 to fund the building projects. This is the third year Anheuser-Busch has participated in a Habitat for Humanity St. Louis build, and overall, the company has contributed $175,000 to the organization since 2010. Nationwide, Anheuser-Busch is involved in Habitat projects in 12 cities near its U.S. breweries with several hundred employees participating.
“Our employees look forward to these builds and it’s a real source of pride for them and us as a company,” said Margarita Flores, vice president of community affairs for Anheuser-Busch. “By building homes, we help provide families more than a house. We help provide a foundation for them to thrive.”
Anheuser-Busch, based in St. Louis, is the leading American brewer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev.
