Ben & Jerry’s delivers its ice cream based on Twitter requests to Boston customers this August.
Ben & Jerry’s plans to deliver its sweet treats to customers in Boston via Tweets on Twitter this month.
From Aug. 6 to Aug. 31, the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Truck will tour Boston, stopping at local businesses, nonprofits and community events. The truck’s stops will be determined based on fan request.
“Traditionally, when companies sample their product, they stay at one spot,” said Ryan Midden, general manager of Ben & Jerry’s Boston. “This truck tour instills the Ben & Jerry’s values and reverses that way of thinking by asking our fans where they want us to go, then we deliver with full scoops of our newest flavors.”
Customers in the Boston-area are encouraged to go online, follow the company’s Twitter @BenJerrysTruck and Tweet them for a chance to try the company’s products.
The Boston truck will feature this year’s new Greek Frozen Yogurt lineup, which includes the following: strawberry shortcake, raspberry fudge chunk, banana peanut butter and blueberry vanilla graham.
